It’s a bewitching time for Belissa Escobedo…
Disney+ has released the teaser trailer for Hocus Pocus 2, starring the 22-year-old Latina actress.
The original film, a live-action sequel to the 1993 Halloween classic, reunites Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the “delightfully wicked” Sanderson sisters.
Hocus Pocus 2 will debut on Disney+ on September 30.
The synopsis: “It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.”
In addition to Midler, Parker, Najimy and cast newcomer Escobedo, Hocus Pocus 2 also stars Sam Richardson, Doug Jones, Hannah Waddingham, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, half-Mexican American actor Froy Gutierrez and Tony Hale.
Directed by Anne Fletcher and produced by Lynn Harris, the film is executive produced by Ralph Winter, David Kirschner and Adam Shankman.
Escobedo’s previous credits include The Baker and the Beauty, American Horror Stories and Don’t Look Deeper.
She’ll next star in Blue Beetle.
Gutierrez previously starred in Teen Wolf, Cruel Summer and Light as a Feather.
