Guillermo Díaz is bringing some serious scandal to BET…
The network has licensed rights to air current season episodes of ABC’s Scandal, which stars the scene-stealing 38-year-old Cuban-American actor.
The agreement calls for each episode to air on BET no earlier than eight days after its original broadcast on ABC, exclusively starting in the fall.
BET also will debut the first two seasons of the series this summer and is also licensing exclusive off-network cable rights to the series starting in fall 2014.
Scandal, created by Shonda Rhimes and starring Kerry Washington, has been a hit for ABC, posting a series-high 9.1 million viewers for its second season finale on May 16.
It’s a big attraction among BET’s core audience, averaging 2.8 million African American viewers per week to rank as broadcast’s top series in the demo.
