Tyler Alvarez’s latest project will be heading to the big screen…
Cleopatra Entertainment has secured the U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to the indie drama The Pretenders, starring the 21-year-old Puerto Rican and Cuban-American actor.
Directed by James Franco, the drama was written by Josh Boone. It follows French New Wave-obsessed film student, Terry, who finds his muse in mysterious and beguiling actress, Catherine. Both Terry and his best friend, Phil, fall under the spell of this beautiful woman. But they soon realize that the more time they spend with her, the more enigmatic she becomes. After years of sex, betrayal, and collateral damage, the three end up in a dangerous situation that leaves one of them fighting for his life.
In addition to Alvarez, the film also stars Jack Kilme, Jane Levy, Shameik Moore,Brian Cox, Dennis Quaid, Juno Temple, as well as Franco.
Cleopatra will release the film in theaters this summer before its VODroll-out mid to late summer, and a home entertainment release for the fall
Alvarez’s previous credits include Netflix’s American Vandals,Nickelodeon‘s Every Witch Way, The Fosters andOrange Is the New Black.
