Chesca’s “Te Quiero Baby, Featuring Frankie Valli & Pitbull, Hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart

Chesca’s Baby is celebrating a special feat…

The Puerto Rican singer’s “Te Quiero Baby,” featuring Pitbull and Frankie Valli, has surged 6-1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart dated December 12.

Chesca

It’s the second leader for Chesca and 10th for Pitbull, while the song earns pioneering pop legend Valli his first No. 1 on Latin Airplay.

“Words can’t describe the feeling of a dream that seemed so far away, and it’s now, here,” Chesca tells Billboard. “About three months ago, we got the news that the legendary Frankie Valli was a part of the record — to now, having the No. 1 spot is something out of this world. I am beyond thankful for everyone that supports me and every step of the process!”

“Te Quiero Baby,” which interpolates Valli’s classic “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” earns Chesca her second No. 1 on Latin Airplay. It follows another Pitbull collaboration on top: “Further Up (Na Na Na Na Na)” with Israeli pop duo Static Ben & El (March 28-dated survey).

The tune takes off with a 44% boost in audience impressions, to 11 million, earned in the week ending Dec. 6, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

“Te Quiero Baby,” which had previously topped Latin Pop Airplay (Nov. 28-dated list), is back atop that tally and concurrently lands at No. 1 on Latin Rhythm Airplay. It’s also Valli’s first leader on the latter.

Prior to the tune’s first appearance atop Latin Pop Airplay, Valli last secured a No. 1 on any chart when “Grease” conquered the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks starting August 26, 1978.

For Pitbull, the “Te Quiero Baby” coronation grants him a 10th No. 1 on Latin Airplay and third straight No. 1 in 2020.

The song concurrently sees some progress on the airplay-, digital- and streaming-blended Hot Latin Songs chart as it climbs 35-31.
