Maluma Gives Architectural Digest a Look Inside His Colombian Countryside Home

Malumais opening his doors to his lavish home…

The 26-year-old Colombian singer, who’ll make his big screen debut opposite Jennifer Lopez in the upcoming romantic comedy Marry Me, has given Architectural Digest (AD) a video tour of his modern yet cozy house in the countryside near his hometown of Medellín.

Maluma

Maluma calls his home his “sanctuary.”S

“It feels amazing to be here and enjoy my house,” Maluma says of his art-filled home, which he has owned for three years and has decorated in a palette of browns and whites. “I needed this time in my life to enjoy and see all of the things that I have been building for a long time.”

He explains that he always dreamed of owning a place with an indoor-outdoor feel, and this one certainly delivers.

The main living space features high ceilings and glass walls (not to mention a sleek floating staircase situated above a tranquil water feature), with lush green foliage visible from all angles.

The centerpiece—surrounded by a white piano, a KAWS sculpture, and horse artwork—is a unique round seating area sunken into the light hardwood floor with a sculptural fire pit in the center.

“I love sitting down [here] with my family,” says Maluma. A simple pile of fluffy rugs and pillows provides another sitting area, where he says games of Unoand Jengaoften take place.

There’s a Scandinavian influence to the kitchen, which has all-white handleless cabinets. And although he has a chef quarantining with him, Maluma insists on making his morning coffee himself, sipping it on his deck each morning from one of his multiple mugs with various family members’ pictures on them.

If the main floor shows off his eye for design, the lower level of the home reflects Maluma’s fun side. It seems to have everything one could ever need to stay entertained during quarantine, including a full gym, a movie theater, a blackjack table, and a Ping-Pong table that he says sees a lot of use. From this game room, comprising a framed collection of soccer jerseys, one can access the backyard, where there’s a large pool with a sleek ivory-colored pool deck, a hot tub, and a meat smoker for barbecues.

Even though everyone is eager to see the pandemic come to an end, Maluma concludes the tour with a message for fans in both Spanish and English: “I hope you guys stay at home…it’s cool to stay at home.”

Bad Bunny Speaks Up About Gender Fluidity

Bad Bunnyis speaking out about society’s gender roles…

Ever since his debut back in 2015, the 25-year-old Puerto Rican Latin trap singer has not been shy about his thoughts on the gender roles society places on everyone. He has regularly depicted himself painting his nails in videos and has previously spoken about his distaste for the way people treat gender.

Bad Bunny

In a new profile with GQ, Bad Bunny spoke out again about sparking conversations regarding gender fluidity.

The star said he understands he’s not a revolutionary in this field and gets the back-and-forth happening among his fans. “There’s people that appreciate what I do; there’s people that criticize it,” he said. “There’s people who say, ‘Thank you for sticking up [for us], thank you for defending [this].’ There’s others that say I’m an opportunist.”

But he also told the men’s magazine that he didn’t want to be an artist who never said anything about issues that are important to him. “If I were like other artists, I’d forget about what’s happening and not say anything,” he said.

Bad Bunny said his activism, including his conversations on gender roles, is less of an option and more of a duty. “I think it’s my responsibility, as a person of influence … to sometimes try to do what I can,” he said. “If I have the chance to say something, I will say it — but that doesn’t obligate me to always say something, or to shed light on every problem, as if I were a lawmaker.”
