Dubbed “The Familia: A Portrait Series” by photographer Stefan Ruiz, the standout photos capture some of the most influential members of the Mexican creative community, established and emerging talents, in seasonal pastels and bold hues.
Other notable stars in the series include RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Valentina, actor Raul Castillo, singer-songwriter San Cha and Debbie Gonzalez, creative director of the Kids of Immigrants brand and a celebrity stylist who’s worked closely with Kehlani.
The globally conscious fashion brand is spotlighting “up-and-coming talent to established brands at the forefront of the Mexican fashion scene,” according to the project’s page.
“Throughout our lives, and particularly through our Year of Mexico project, we have been privileged enough to witness the breadth of talent and soul that emanates from the Mexican community,” said Humberto Leon, Opening Ceremony’s co-founder and creative director, in an Instagram post. “In our current political climate, and at a most crucial time to celebrate diversity on both our home front and abroad, we decided to bring together friends new and old who pioneer conversation in the global cultural dialogue.”
