Diego Boneta is about to get underemployed…
The 21-year-old Mexican actor/singer is set to star in MTV‘s new scripted dramedy Underemployed, which follows a group of five friends – Sophia, Daphne, Lou, Raviva and Miles – who all believe they’re destined for greatness as they graduate from college and enter the real world. But what happens when complete world domination doesn’t go according to plan?
Underemployed picks up one year after graduation, when reality has set in and the group struggles, often comically, to stay optimistic through dead end jobs, terrible bosses, romantic mistakes and major life changes.
Boneta—who received an ALMA Award nomination for his role in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages—portrays Mlles, who wants to be the face of a major American designer’s underwear campaign, but instead is serving drinks and appetizers in his skivvies.
The series, which is currently in production in Chicago, will feature 12 hour-long episodes.
Underemployed will premiere October 16 at 10pm ET on MTV.
