Ashanti is ready to celebrate Pride month with her fans…
L.A Pride organizers have revealed a portion of their 2019 lineup, with the 38-year-old part-Dominican American R&B singer making the list.
Ashanti will perform during the festival, which will take place on June 8 and 9 in Los Angeles, CA.
She joins a roster that includes pop singer Meghan Trainor and electropop trio Years & Years, this year’s headling acts, as well as Latin singer Amara La Negra, Dej Loaf, Greyson Chance, MNEK, Pabllo Vittar and Ah-Mer-Ah-Su.
More performers will be announced at a later date.
The theme for this year’s event is #JustUnite, highlighting the work done over the last 50 years by the LGBTQ community, and making a statement that the only way to continue that work is to bring the community together.
“L.A. Pride stands humbly on the shoulders of those that have come before us who worked tirelessly for nearly 50 years to create a movement,” said Estevan Montemayor, the president of Christopher Street West’s board of directors. “Our multi-generational community is, indeed, stronger together, and this year’s LA Pride celebration draws upon our diverse experiences to ensure that our collective voice is more powerful than ever.”
