The Puerto Rican professional esports commentator and host was one of the winners of the first Gamers’ Choice Awards.
Mendez, a host/commentator on multiple games including Call of Duty, Halo and most recently, Overwatch, was named Fan Favorite Esports Host.
The winners were announced over the weekendon a CBSbroadcast, led by gamer Ninja copping three honors.
KISS kicked off the show with an homage to the creative genius of comics creator Stan Lee, who is credited with laying the foundation for many games and gaming characters.
