Al Alburquerque still has the eye of the tiger…
The 28-year-old Dominican Major League Baseball relief pitcher has reached an agreement on a one-year contract with the Detroit Tigers.
The Tigers announced the deal on Sunday.
Alburquerque, a right-hander, was the last Tigers player left in salary arbitration.
He was 3-1 with a 2.51 ERA in 72 games last year for the AL Central champions.
He made $837,500 last season and asked for $2.05 million this year, with the Tigers offering $1,375,000.
