It’s been a long time coming… Almost 10 years, actually! But Christina Aguilera has notched another No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger,” featuring the Latina pop star, shimmied its way to top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week. The oh-so-catchy song moved up from No. 4 to No. 1 and received Airplay Gainer honors for a third consecutive week.

“Moves Like Jagger” was released for digital download on June 21, 2011 in conjunction with a live performance of the song on NBC’s “The Voice” that same day, where Adam Levine (Maroon 5’s lead singer) and Aguilera served as judges. The track was written by Adam Levine, Benjamin Levin, Ammar Malik and Shellback, and was produced by Shellback and Benny Blanco.
While the song is Maroon 5’s second Hot 100 No. 1 since 2007, “Moves Like Jagger” is Aguilera’s first No. 1 since 2001, when she ruled alongside Lil’ Kim, Mya and P!nk on “Lady Marmalade” for five weeks.
“Moves Like Jagger” is Aguilera’s fifth Hot 100 No. 1. She previously took top honors with three songs from her self-titled debut album in 1999-2000: “Genie in a Bottle,” “What a Girl Wants” and “Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You).”
