Jennifer Lopez’s next television project is one step closer to becoming reality…

In the middle of its next pilot cycle, ABC Family has green-lighted a new drama pilot to be executive produced by Jennifer Lopez.

Entitled The Fosters, the one-hour drama centers on a multi-ethnic family, a mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms.

The former American Idol judge, who was recently named one of the most powerful women in the world, will serve as an executive producer with her producing partner at Nuyorican Prods. Simon Fields, as well as Greg Gugliotta.
