It looks like Jennifer Lopez is getting plenty of luh on social media…
The 44-year-old Puerto Rican singer/actress and American Idol judge rises from 19-7 on Billboard’s Social 50 chart due to the hunk-filled new music video for her latest single “I Luh Ya Papi.”
Lopez, who performed the single with Idol alums Jessica Sanchez and Allison Iraheta on Thursday night’s results show, released the steamy clip on VEVO on March 13.
The video has registered more than 11 million global plays since its debut, contributing greatly to the 23 million plays (up 18 percent) on her VEVO channel in the week ending March 16.
The rise in conversation resulting from the video’s debut is evidenced in the 67 percent rise in weekly conversation about J. Lo, which translates into a 26 percent rise in weekly fan acquisition (adding 630,000 new fans to her audience).
This is J.Lo’s first visit to the top 10 since the August17, 2013 chart, when she was ranked No. 5.
The Social 50 ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, VEVO, Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud, Wikipedia, MySpace and Instagram. The chart’s methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views, song plays and reactions as measured by music analytics company Next Big Sound.
