It looks like Benicio del Toro isn’t the only actor portraying Pablo Escobar on film…
Oscar Isaac has signed on to portray the notorious Colombian drug cartel kingpin in a biopic to be directed by Brad Furman.
Furman, who helmed Lincoln Lawyer, has long wanted to develop an Escobar biopic.
Based on a script by Matt Aldrich, this will be the latest in a long line of attempts at making a movie about Escobar, with the likes of Joe Carnahan and Antoine Fuqua both developing movies about the legendary Colombian drug kingpin that fell through.
Isaac, who will be starring in Inside Llewyn Davis later this year, will begin filming on the biopic in Colombia this September.
