Forget Mariah Carey’s American Idol saying, “#Pow”…

The 43-year-old half-Venezuelan American singer and American Idol judge has named her next single “#Beautiful.”

Carey, who performed the theme song to Oz: The Great & Powerful earlier this year, recently shared the single on Soundcloud.com, which critics have proclaimed lives up to its name.

For the first verse or so, it may be hard to tell it’s a Carey track, with its simple, twangy guitar lick. And, Miguel is the main voice on “#Beautiful” until the minute-thirty mark. After that, though, Carey takes the reins in a return to form for the Grammy-winning singer.
