It’s a bittersweet day for Jenni Rivera’s fans…
mun2 has announced that the third season of the late Mexican American singer’s hit reality series I Love Jenni will premiere in April.
Rivera’s series, the top-rated Hispanic reality show on cable, comes four months after the superstar banda and ranchera died in a plane crash in Northern Mexico on December 9 after giving her last performance in Monterrey.
The new season’s episodes will include footage shot in the month before her untimely passing, as well as footage shot afterward as Rivera’s family deals with her death. Rivera’s five children Chiquis, Jacqui, Michael, Jenicka and Johnny, as well as Rivera’s sister Rosie will also appear in the new episodes.
Rivera, a major star in the Latin American community and Mexico, was in the midst of preparing to cross-over into the English-language market in the U.S. Rivera’s death came just days after she’d sealed a deal to headline her own sitcom for ABC.
Season three of I Love Jenni will premiere on mun2 on April 14 at 9:00 pm ET.
